I was born and raised in Bellefontaine, Ohio.

I’ve spent my career living and working in Columbus, Ohio.

In a fabric design class at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, I was introduced to the silk screen printing process. There was something about the cutting of the rubylith, the mixing of the dyes, the pulling of the squeegee, and the repeated patterns running down the printing table. I was in love. After graduation, I was employed at a firm that designed wallcoverings and prototyped the samples using silk screening. I also began producing my own serigraphs that started gaining some recognition in the regional exhibition and gallery scene. Though I loved the work, there was something insidious happening. In those days, there were no quality water based inks or dyes. The vinyl inks and cleaning solvents were making me very ill. So, after a couple of bouts with pneumonia and a hospitalization, I began the hiatus of my fine art career. Fortunately, along came the Macintosh computer and an opportunity for me to switch to graphic design. That plus raising two children and a side business promoting tennis events throughout Central Ohio kept me busy for the next thirty years. During that time, computers advanced, stat cameras became obsolete, typographers disappeared, and digital printers now produce fine art quality prints on paper and fabric. My hiatus is over.
